The Boston Bandits are proud to announce that Frankfurt, Germany native Moritz Wirth is the first player to sign with the USPHL team for the 2017-2018 season.

"Our scouting staff was impressed with the combination of speed and hockey sense that Moritz possessed in their viewings of him. We feel that he will be the cornerstone of our Defence corps and a leader who we can build around." said Bandits Senior Advsior of Hockey Operations, Doug Shepherd.

"Most importantly for us, Moritz came highly recommended from respected hockey people in Europe. He is regarded as a young man of high character".

Last season Wirth had an impressive year with the EC Red Bull Salzburg team and helped lead them to a victory in the National Championship. Wirth is a talented defenceman who will bring an offensive component to the Bandits. His reputation internationally as a young man of strong character and work ethic has earned him attention from some of the top NCAA programs in the country.
