The Boston Junior Bandits of the USPHL enjoyed a successful inaugural NCDC draft on May 17. The Bandits were thrilled with their selections and the players that were on the board each time their turn rolled around.

"We were able to select the majority of the players that we had ranked in the top 15 on our draft list" said Director of Player Personnel, Mark Jones. "We feel that the work put in by our Coaching and Scouting staff has paid off and we are getting closer to our goal of icing a winning team".

The Bandits were able to nab dynamic forward Christian Thomas who played in the NAHL last season as well as local Bandit youth hockey stars Harrison Roy (UMaine commit) and Thomas Kramer.

The Bandits targeted high end skilled players in the draft, many of whom have already committed to NCAA Division 1 programs including Aiden Porter G (Princeton), Johnny Mulera F (Providence), Matt Fawcett F (Quinnipiac) and Monte Graham F (Boston College).

The club was also able to land highly touted net minder Eric Donor from the Hill Academy in Toronto, smooth skating defenseman Griffin Neault from the Chicago Mission, rising star Jack Brackett from the Ashburn Xtreme and a slick, play making Latvian named Leo Avakos from the New Hampshire Monarchs.

In addition to their draft picks, the Bandits obtained the rights to forward Josh Vertentes from the Boston Jr. Bruins. Vertentes was one the top U18 players in the country last season as he put up 41 points in 21 games.

The Bandits will host their Main Camp May 25-27 at the Bridgewater Ice Arena and will announce additional club signings in the coming weeks.
