Bandits Announce Assistant Coach for NCDC Team

Coach Joey Ferriss Added to the NCDC Lineup

The Boston Bandits of the USPHL are pleased to announce the appointment of Joey Ferriss as an Assistant Coach with the club’s NCDC team for the 2017-18 season. After spending the 2016-17 season as and Assistant with the Bandits U18 team, Ferriss will now assist veteran bench boss, Scott Drevitch at the USPHL’s top level.

Joey is an alumnus of the University of Connecticut where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. He spent 4 years playing for the UConn Huskies Division 1 Men’s Hockey team appearing in 120 career games and collecting 32 points. At UConn, Joey received the Senior Scholar Athlete Award for outstanding achievement in the classroom and on the ice. He was also twice voted the “Iron Husky” by the UConn Sports Performance Staff for excellence and commitment in the weight room.

Prior to his stint at UConn, Joey played 1 year in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the Michigan Warriors where he posted 41 points in 59 games. A native of Novi, Michigan, he also captained the Novi Varsity Hockey Team to a Michigan State Championship in 2011.

In addition to his role as NCDC Assistant Coach, Ferriss will also serve as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the NCDC, Premier, U18, U16 and Bandit youth teams.
