Former Bandit Casey O'Brien played Semi Final hero against arch rival Canada. O'Brien earned Player of the Game honors in a 4-3 win for USA. Her 3rd period goal cued an American comeback as they went on to win in OT. The U18 squad then defeated Sweden 9-3 in the Gold Medal game. It was the fourth time in a row that the American women have captured the U18 World title.

The Milton, Massachusetts native spent several years skating for current U16 Head Coach and Director of Player Development Mark Jones. When asked about O'Brien's success with Team USA, Coach Jones had this to say, "[Casey] is one of the most driven players I have had the privilege to coach.  She set her goals really early on and did not waiver from them, even when she was the only girls playing in one of the most competitive boys youth leagues in the country.  She will continue to excel moving forward I have no doubt."

O'Brien is slated to attend the University of Wisconsin.  The Bandits wish Casey all the best in her future hockey endeavors and look forward to watching her skate as a Wisconsin Badger.
