Bandits Premier player Bill Hickey is headed to Salem State University for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.  The Salem Vikings have a long history of being competitive at the NCAA Division III level and earned the MASCAC title in 2016. While his early departure from the Premier squad certainly leaves a void, we are confident that joining the Vikings line-up will have a positive impact on Hickey's hockey development.

When asked about Hickey's placement, Bandits Premier Coach Jay Punsky said the following, "Billy came to us this season with the goal of earning a college roster spot for next season, despite having another year of eligibility. His dedication and work ethic have paid off and he achieved his goal earlier than expected. The Bandits organization couldn’t be happier for Billy."

The Vikings are currently 7-7-1 as they head into the second half of the season. Hickey is sure to make his presence known and to help propel the Vikings past the 500 mark. Coach Punsky added that, "Billy, a 6’4 defenseman, is an intimidating and difficult player to play against. His size, reach and defensive awareness make him an excellent shut down defenseman. Forwards think twice before racing into the corner with Billy."

The Bandits look forward to seeing what Bill can do at the college level and wish him the best of luck.
