Jones is slated to attend the University of New Hampshire in the Fall of 2020

Congratulations to 2001-born 16U and NCDC Forward, Zack Jones on his recent commitment to the University of New Hampshire for the fall of 2020

The Boston Bandits organization is proud to announce that Zack Jones has chosen the University of New Hampshire to continue his hockey career. The 2000-born forward has been playing with the Bandits since he was a mite. Rising through the Bandits’ ranks, the highly skilled and crafty playmaker has been a consummate leader at each level he played.

Last season with the Bandits 16U team, Jones posted 14 goals and 25 assists in 19 EJEPL games for 1.6 points per game. One of the reasons Jones has had so much success in Junior hockey is his consistency. It is an almost guaranteed two point swing if Jones is on the ice. So far this season he has 22 goals and 31 assists for the Bandits 16U in their first season with the USPHL. Jones has also been called up for several NCDC games where he made his presence known and continued to be a high-impact player.

According to Bandits owner Ben Ewing, “Zack is the epitome of what it means to be a Boston Bandits Hockey Player. He grew up as a Bandit and his hard work and dedication to the sport have certainly paid off in a big way.” Jones is slated to attend the University of New Hampshire for the 2020-21 season.

The University of New Hampshire is a public research university located in Durham, New Hampshire. UNH is home to 20 Division I varsity athletics teams that bring home national championships and division titles and whose athletes are consistently recognized for their academic achievements. “UNH couldn’t be a better fit for someone like Zack, who is committed to constantly bettering himself both on and off the ice,” continued Ben Ewing. “The Wildcats are extremely competitive in Hockey East and a perennial national powerhouse. Everyone at the Bandits looks forward to watching Zack tear it up at the Collegiate level.”

The Bandits continue to provide local boys like Jones, as well as players from around the world, the opportunity to play in front of hundreds of college and pro scouts. When asked about his commitment to UNH, Jones replied, “I’m extremely excited to have chosen UNH to further my hockey career. The Bandits have been like a second family to me and have prepared me to make the transition from Junior to D1 college hockey.”

The Boston Bandits would like to congratulate Zack and his entire family for this accomplishment. Mark Jones, Zack’s father, works as Director of Player Development for the Jr Bandits and Zack’s older brother Cooper (also a career Bandit), is currently playing in the QMJHL with the Halifax Moosehead. Zack will be an enormous addition to the Bandits NCDC squad for the 2018-19 season.
