The Massachusetts Hockey half-season championship brackets were announced on Monday afternoon. In their inaugural season, the U18 EHF Selects Bandits have qualified for the Massachusetts Hockey State Tournament. The Bandits finished the season with a record of 12-4-2 and were ranked 11th in the state. They take on the Eastern Mass Senators in a single game elimination contest.

The EHF Selects Split-Season Division of the USPHL was especially dominant in the amount of bids received. There were also three full-season USPHL Midget teams, and one EHF Split-Season team that earned bids. All told, there will be 26 teams entering playoff action this weekend, with the hopes of capturing the state championship and a Nationals berth for next Spring.

The Bandits offense is led by PA born forward Jace Rearic, who has 6 goals and 7 assists in 10 games. The defensive corps is comprised of some heavy-hitters, including Will Crowly and Ryan Davies. Greg Smith has been stellar in net with a 1.60 goals per game average. The team is coached by Ohio State grad and former Professional player, Pat Schafer.
